Statement of Consumer Rights
As a client of Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare, you have rights and responsibilities.
Statement of Client Rights:
- to be treated with dignity and respect
- to be told about your treatment
- to have a say in your treatment to say what you prefer
- to have all records about you kept confidential
- to speak to others in private
- to get help with your rights to have your complaints resolved
Statement of Client Responsibilities:
- to treat others with dignity and respect
- to provide information needed for treatment & services
- to participate in service planning or changes & then abide by the plan
- to express preferences & seek understanding of your role in treatment
- to keep the confidentiality of others
- to ask for privacy while respecting the privacy of others
- to ask staff to help you with your rights
- to appropriately voice your concerns and seek resolution

- Before medical records can be released, a client, legal guardian, or Authorized Representative must sign an Authorization to Release Protected Health Information.
- If you are a current client, please contact your BRBH provider (case manager, clinician, therapist, etc.) to begin the process.
- If you are a former client, please call 540-266-9209, leave a message, and someone will return your call within 24 hours.
