“The Color Monster”

Ashley Spanfelner, Co-Response Therapist with Marcus Alert worked with the Roanoke Police Department to strengthen relationships with and build resiliency in the youngest members of our community. With both a grant from the Virginia Counselors Association Foundation and funding from RPD, more than 700 board books were purchased for Roanoke City Public Schools pre-K students. This book, “The Color Monster,” helps give children a socio-emotional learning experience and help them learn more about their emotions, which increases their levels of resiliency.
