Summary of Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare (BRBH) Employment Benefits

 

Medical, Dental and Vision Coverage.  We offer a selection of comprehensive and affordable health care and dental coverage options. You choose the plan that best fits your lifestyle.

Virginia Retirement System.  Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare participates in the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) and pays the total cost of this benefit.  You become vested after five years of employment. You are eligible for an unreduced retirement benefit when you reach your normal Social Security retirement age and have at least five years of service credit or when your age and service credit equal at least 90. Example: Age 60 with 30 years of service credit.

457 Deferred Compensation Plan.  To encourage employees to save for retirement, the Agency offers a 457 Deferred Compensation Retirement Plan for full-time and part-time employees. Money can be deposited to this account on a pre-tax basis and grows tax deferred until the time of withdrawal.  Enrollment is available at any time for a minimum of $10 per pay period.

Group Life Insurance.  Employee group life insurance is provided through the Virginia Retirement System in the amount of two times the employee’s annual salary.  Additional life insurance coverage is available for you and for your family.

Additional Coverage.  Cancer, accident and disability insurances are available via a third party on a payroll deduction basis.

Long Term Care Group Insurance.   Commonwealth of Virginia Group Long Term Care Insurance underwritten by Genworth Life Insurance Company is available to employees on a payroll deduction basis.

Liability Insurance. The Agency provides liability insurance for employees.  Coverage is maintained for approved work activities during the hours for which you are both on duty and paid by Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare.

Direct Deposit.  Direct deposit is available to all employees.  You can elect to have your pay directly deposited in up to two different accounts.

EAP is provided to all BRBH employees and their family members who reside with them through Advantage EAP /Psychological Health-Roanoke.  Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare provides this resource for all employees whether enrolled in a BRBH health insurance plan or not.

PAID TIME OFF   Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare provides Paid Time Off (PTO) for vacations, holidays, brief personal and family illness and personal business.  Part-time employees accrue PTO credits in proportion to the number of hours of work for which they are employed.  The schedule for accrual of PTO is as follows:

Serious Health Condition Leave.  Serious Health Condition Leave (SHCL) is paid leave that may be used for an employee’s own Serious Health Condition. This accrued leave may be used for extended illness of the employee as defined by the policy   This policy applies to all full-time and part-time employees.  Serious Health Condition Leave is accrued at 5 hours per pay period up to a maximum total of 440 hours.  Part-time employees accrue Serious Health Condition Leave in proportion to the number of hours of work for which they were hired.

Licensure Supervision.  Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare provides licensure supervision for those requiring clinical licensure as part of their job requirements (LPC or LCSW).
