Virginia Retirement System
BRBH participates in the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) and pays the total cost of this benefit. You become vested after five years of employment and are eligible to receive a monthly retirement benefit at age 55 with five years of service, or at age 50 with ten years of service.
457 Deferred Compensation Plan
To encourage employees to save for retirement, the Agency offers a 457 Deferred Compensation Retirement Plan for full-time and part-time employees. Money can be deposited to this account on a pre-tax basis and grows tax deferred until the time of withdrawal. Enrollment is available at any time for a minimum of $10 per pay period.
Group Life Insurance
Employee group life
insurance is provided through the Virginia Retirement System in the amount
of two times the employee’s annual salary. Additional life insurance coverage is available for you and for your family.
Additional Coverage
Cancer, accident and disability insurances are available via a third party on a payroll deduction basis.
Liability Insurance
The Agency provides
liability insurance for employees. Coverage is maintained for approved work activities during the hours for
which you are both on duty and paid by Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare.
Direct Deposit
Direct deposit is
available to all employees. You can elect to have your pay directly deposited in up to two different accounts.

Healthcare provides a resource for full and part-time employees.
Paid Time Off
Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare provides Paid Time Off (PTO) for vacations, holidays, brief personal and family illness, and personal business. Part-time employees accrue PTO credits in proportion to the number of hours of work for which they are employed.

Supplemental Leave
This accrued leave may be
used for extended illness of the employee or immediate family member as
defined by the policy. This policy applies to all full-time and part-time employees. Part-time employees accrue Supplemental Leave in proportion to the number of hours for which they are employed. The accrual rate for SL is based upon the total years of service.

Educational Leave
Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare encourages
continuous learning and employee development. Educational Leave may
be granted, at the discretion of the Agency, for the purpose of allowing
employees time to further their education through study related to their
work.
Licensure Supervision
Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare provides licensure supervision for those requiring clinical licensure as part of their job requirements (LPC or LCSW).
